This has been our go to place for many years and food has always been consistent as the owners have not changed. Our favourites are the deep fried chicken wings, hainanese chicken rice, hokkien char and combination fried noodle. Owners are friendly and are always greeted with a smile. The decor is pretty simple but tidy and clean. Parking is ample however does get busy during the weekends.

So I have been eating at R&S since 1998 roughly and the chicken satay noodle soup with extra satay I have to say Sarah’s signature dish for me. I moved away to Europe for over a decade and could I find decent Malay? No. So imagine my joy when I turn up again in 2024 and they a) are still there, b) they quality is as good as it was in the 90s and c) Sarah remembers me when I come in and asks if I want the noodle soup?!? ARE YOU KIDDING? Of course I do!!!
15/10 They deserve to be the most popular restaurant in Cuba st.

NZD18 for this plate of seafood fried rice noodle is worthwhile. It came with fresh prawns, squid and scallops. The rice noodle was fried sufficiently and the gravy consistency was to my liking. Usually I can’t finish a dish by myself but I did with this one. I just kept eating till almost the last piece of noodle.

Just ate here for lunch and had an amazing meal. We had chicken rice, chicken noodle soup and beef satay. Everything was so tasty. Staff were very friendly and brightened our day.
