Went here for my mum's birthday today and was very impressed by the food. Up there with the best Cantonese style food in Wellington. Really varied menu with some unique dishes that I haven't seen on menus before. We ordered a lot of dishes and every dish was fresh and delicious. Highlights were the roast pork, beef with ginger and spring onion, stuffed eggplant and pepper, fried dumplings and the chicken stuffed with shrimp paste and topped with almonds. Can't wait to come back and try the soups.

Think this may be my new go-to for Chinese food in Wellington! Arrived for a late dinner around 8 pm with some friends and were greeted and seated quickly by the owner. The dishes arrived as they were ready, hot straight from the kitchen. Each dish was delicious! My favourite was the jaded tofu with pork mince steamed in lotus leaves. The tofu was very soft and flavoursome. When we complimented the boss about the tofu, he informed us the tofu is made in-house! No wonder why it tasted so different and just divine! Will definitely be coming back here again. Was also a great place to catch up with friends, nice and quiet restaurant on a Tuesday night who didn't mind us showing up at 8 pm for dinner.

Had another amazing meal at my favorite Wellington restaurant. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. Outstanding service from a friendly staff, complemented by the owner's clear passion for cuisine. Highly recommend!

Excellent food, full of flavour. An enjoyable eating experience. Definitely recommend the standard dishes, or try out the more authentic dishes not listed on the main menu.

I finally found a place that does Hong Kong style crispy chow mein, and Magic Kitchen’s is simple, uncomplicated fare. Exactly what I wanted and the portions are substantial. Lots of great stuff on their menu so I’m looking forward to coming back and trying other things.
