A rest owned by a northern Chinese couple. They are very nice, could not speak mandarin well instead they spoke a dialect. You can still understand them 80%. Food was good, big portion, and most of them are yum. Hi La soup was seasoned with tons of spices and made it undrinkable to me, but other customers seemed fine. It could be personal preference. Price is also reasonable. We will be back for more but not Hu La soup.

As much as we love bal ganga, one thing this place lacks is consistency. We ordered momos (delicious btw) two times in 2 weeks. First time when the owner was there, the order was good. The second time we went, the order wasn’t complete.
Momos were carelessly thrown in the container, there was no sauce with it or the special powder/masala was missing.

This is one of the better bahn mis I've had in at least west Auckland! Very friendly family owned business who we love to support each time. Always friendly to the kids. The bahn mi itself has a good balance, preferably I'd like a little less carrot but you can always let her know. The pate used is homemade and taste authentic. I'm still yet to try out the south Auckland bahn, but this is definitely our go to as of late. Please do support this business as they are honest in their trade.

My partner recommended this restaurant for its dry noodles with peanut sauce, so we decided to visit for dinner on Sunday.
We ordered the dry noodles with peanut sauce and dumplings (dandan noodles), kkwobarou, and shrimp fried rice.
The noodles were delicious as expected! The peanut sauce paired perfectly with the dumplings. We loved it.
The fried rice was quite good and generously portioned.
Lastly, the kkwobarou, fried with a layer of glutinous rice, was incredibly tasty and sweet. I really enjoyed it!
Overall, we had a great dinner here and this place is highly recommended.

An East Auckland staple which you need to try, has been around for a very long time and is popular for a reason. One of the best Beijing roast ducks in town!
One of the few, if not the only, place where the chef cuts the duck in front of your table so you can see that you are getting all of the parts.
A lot of other great dishes on the menu to try too so you will never leave with an empty stomach.
Just remember to book a table just advance if you want to have the Beijing duck, otherwise sometimes they are still able to prepare one for you in around plus or minus 40 mins.
Classic Chinese restaurant interior with the bright coloured walls and warm lights, but you can still get nice photos of the food!
