Ordered 2 set of Dumplings - prawn and pork & vegetable. Sweet and sour.
Price is not bad. Service was OK. The lady was friendly but her English is not good. You just have to be a bit understanding that English is not her first language but service is good.
Shop is just a little bit rundown but food make it up for it.
Menu is Hugh. I wish I could try them all. Look great.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in South Island I’d say. We went twice during our 5 days stay in Dunedin, and even took away some food with us back to Christchurch. Fair price and good quality.
The eggplant dish is a must have, and best to have it there when it’s fresh made and crispy. The owners are very sweet and welcoming.

Every positive review you read, including this one, is true to the fullest and some!! This is by far the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at and I have eaten at a few nationwide. Very well priced, very lovely staff, very authentic chef and a very nice atmosphere. If you’re uncertain about what/where to eat and you need a meal you won’t regret Rising Sun Dumplings is the place to go.

Rising Sun Dumplings is our go-to restaurant for all occasions—whether we’re celebrating happy moments, small victories, unwinding after a tiring day, or simply craving delicious food. Every dish we order is consistently amazing. Our favorites are the chicken stir-fry noodles, sweet and sour pork, and their heavenly honey chicken. 🍗
Since moving to Dunedin a year ago, we haven’t felt as homesick because this spot has become our comfort food haven. The friendly, welcoming staff ☺️ make the experience even better, and we love how they greet us warmly, even outside the restaurant, like old friends.😁 HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 😍
